The Nazzano didactic Park

The nature tracks

Prairie Track

Gradient: -40 m/+60 m
Duration of the walk: 1 hr.
Interest: Ecological aspects, vegetation, fauna

Prairie TrackThe track goes through the Fosso Casella, a small, formerly cultivated valley, and links up the Visitors Centre with the Guestrooms.
Starting from the Belvedere Terrace a plain walk of about 45 min. allows the visitors to get in touch with an environment which has been deeply changed by human activities for centuries. On the contrary, now it features an undisturbed succession of the vegetation.
Six halting places equipped with accurate schedules give the visitors the chance to observe and interpret gradually the interaction between local features and general ecological principles. It is also possible to collect samples of soil and water and analyse them in the laboratory at the Visitors Centre.

Wood Track

Wood Track Gradient: +40 m
Duration of the walk: 1 hr.
Interest: Geological and ecological aspects, vegetation, fauna

Still to be completed, the track links up the Guestrooms with the village of Nazzano or the Visitors Centre going through a woodland in which vegetation turns gradually but relevantly from humid to dry because of the peculiar orography.
Within the woods it is also easy to see burrows of foxes, badgers and porcupines.
